Demenzspezifische Bildung als Komponente eines demenzsensiblen Krankenhauses

Am Mittwoch, dem 16.03.2022 fand um 14.00 Uhr ein ZOOM - Meting mit dem Thema: Demenzspezifische Bildung als Komponente eines demenzsensiblen Krankenhauses, statt. Referentin war Frau Julia Schneider, Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Gerontologie, Universität Heidelberg.

Damit eine fachlich angemessene, personenzentrierte und sensible Versorgung von Menschen mit Demenz im Krankenhaus möglich ist, benötigen Mitarbeitende Wissen über Symptomverläufe, Bedürfnisse und Lebenswelten von Menschen mit Demenz. Mitarbeitende klagen bisweilen über Wissensdefizite, die in Handlungsunsicherheiten und Überforderung resultieren können. Ausreichendes, zielgruppenspezifisches Wissen bildet nicht nur die Grundlage für situativ adäquates Handeln im klinischen Alltag, sondern auch einen zentralen Bestandteil für die Ausbildung einer positiven Einstellung gegenüber Menschen mit Demenz. Damit können auch Barrieren bei der Schaffung demenzsensibler Strukturen in Krankenhäusern überwunden werden. Demenzspezifische Bildungsmaßnahmen für Beschäftigte sind ein wichtiger, unterstützender Bestandteil. Um jedoch nachhaltige Veränderungen zu bewirken, bedarf es zusätzlich einer positiven Stations- und Unternehmenskultur, die in strukturellen und prozessualen Veränderungen mündet.
